Keeping access

What happens when your UK number rental ends?

Each successful paid renewal keeps the same number and inbox active. Cancelling renewal leaves your remaining paid time in place. If you plan to stop, update accounts that use the number before that time ends.

If you want to keep the same UK number

Keep track of the access date and subscription status in My numbers or My account. Use Manage Billing to check your payment method and renewal details. A failed payment does not add a free access period.

A new purchase creates a new rental; it is not a way to extend a specific existing number. For an existing rental, check its billing and access status before starting another order.

If you want to stop renewing

  1. Open the subscription in Manage Billing

Use Manage Billing from My account, or Cancel for the relevant number in My numbers. The cancellation confirmation takes place in Stripe.

  2. Check which numbers belong to that subscription

Numbers bought together in one order share a subscription. Cancelling that subscription affects every number in that order.

  3. Confirm and check the remaining paid period

When you cancel renewal, access continues until the end of the period already paid for. Use the access date in your account to plan when to replace the number in other services.

After paid access ends

Number and inbox access ends when the paid rental period ends unless a successful renewal extends it.

The expired number and its messages are no longer available in the web inbox. Incoming messages outside the active access period are not added to a new rental.

A new rental has a separate inbox. Previous rental messages are not transferred to it.

A previously rented number is not guaranteed to be available again after access ends.

Review accounts that use the number

  • Check contact and recovery settings

Before giving up a number, review the services where you used it as a contact or recovery method. Follow each service’s process to update those settings.

  • Keep the distinction between accounts clear

Your Rent UK Number sign-in and an account with another service are separate. Access to this inbox does not replace the other service’s account recovery process.

  • Avoid relying on a future reassignment

Do not assume you can rent the same number again to recover a code later. Availability after a rental ends is not guaranteed.

If you have already lost access

For a problem signing in to Rent UK Number, use the same email/password or Google account you originally used and contact us if you still need help.

For an account with another service, follow that service’s recovery options. We cannot restore third-party accounts or promise that a previously rented number can be returned to you.

Common renewal questions

  • Will a successful renewal give me a different number?

No. A successful paid renewal continues the same rental, number and inbox. Buying another rental is a separate action.

  • Can I recover old messages by renting a number again?

A new rental has a separate inbox. Previous rental messages are not transferred to it. Reassignment is not a message recovery method, even if a number becomes available again.

  • Does cancelling renewal request a refund?

No. Cancellation stops a future renewal. If you want a refund reviewed, contact us separately with the relevant order or rental reference.
